Voice-call paging
Controlled-preview incident calls to a verified phone number.
On this page
Voice calling is a controlled preview, not an automatically available free or self-service transport. A platform administrator must activate a funded provider path, and only verified, opted-in numbers are dialable.
Before setup
- Confirm controlled-preview activation and applicable pricing with HowlOps.
- Verify the E.164 phone number under Settings → Notifications and preserve the recipient's consent.
- Add the verified voice destination to a personal notification chain or permitted escalation path and run one guarded test.
For an incident, HowlOps places a call and reads the alert using text to speech. A completed provider request is not proof that a person answered, and keypad acknowledgement is available only where the current call flow explicitly presents it.
Safety, privacy, and troubleshooting
Maintenance fences, cost/rate limits, recipient verification, consent, and provider state can prevent calling. Provider credentials stay platform-managed. Remove reassigned numbers promptly and do not loop paid tests. Check delivery evidence, number verification, quiet hours, and escalation timing, then contact support. See Voice and SMS paging.
