Datadog integration
Bring Datadog monitor alerts into HowlOps as incidents, so on-call paging and status pages cover Datadog-monitored services too.
What this brings you
If Datadog is already watching your infrastructure and application metrics, you don't want a second alerting system living in a silo. Connect Datadog as an inbound source and its monitor alerts arrive in HowlOps as incidents, so they go through the same on-call escalation, get the same status-page visibility, and show up in the same incident history as everything else HowlOps monitors directly.
Setup
- In HowlOps, open Integrations in the sidebar (the Integration Hub).
- Under Bring alerts into HowlOps, click the Datadog source card, then Generate endpoint to get a token-scoped webhook URL.
- In Datadog, create a webhook integration pointed at that URL: Integrations > Webhooks > add a new webhook with the HowlOps endpoint as its URL.
- On the Datadog monitor(s) you want forwarded, add the webhook as a notification target in the monitor's alert message (
@webhook-<name>). - Trigger a test notification from the monitor and confirm the incident appears in HowlOps.
