ServiceNow notifications

Create ServiceNow Incident records from HowlOps notifications.

ServiceNow is a live, self-service ticket destination on every plan. HowlOps creates an Incident through the Table API; it is not a bidirectional CMDB or incident sync.

Set it up

  1. Create a dedicated ServiceNow integration user that may create Incident records.
  2. Under Integrations → Channels → ServiceNow, enter only the instance prefix, username, and password.
  3. Save, send a test, and confirm the Incident in a non-production queue first.

Each delivered event may create a work item according to channel filters. Closing or updating the ServiceNow record does not resolve the HowlOps incident, and HowlOps does not import users, assignments, or CMDB data.

Security and troubleshooting

Grant the smallest applicable role, use a dedicated account, and rotate its password in ServiceNow and HowlOps together. HowlOps constructs the service-now.com host from the instance prefix. Confirm Table API access and inspect Notification delivery log. See ServiceNow Table API.
