Redeem a trial programme code
Use a programme code to unlock paid plans for a fixed period, and ask for SMS and voice paging.
A trial programme code unlocks a set of paid plans for your workspace for a fixed number of days. Codes are handed out individually or advertised on the HowlOps home and pricing pages when a programme is running.
Redeem a code when you sign up
If you arrived from a link that carries the code, it travels with you and is applied as soon as your workspace is created. You do not need to type anything.
If your account already exists, use the in-app route below instead.
Redeem a code in the app
- Go to Settings > Plan.
- Find the Have a programme code? panel at the top.
- Type the code and click Redeem.
- The plans the programme grants are active immediately. The confirmation names the programme and how many days the window lasts.
One programme per workspace, ever. If you have already redeemed a code, a second one is refused — including the same code again after your window ends.
What happens when the window ends
Your capabilities return to the free plans, and any plan you were paying for before the programme is restored rather than dropped. Nothing is deleted. Your existing monitors keep running through the grace period, and only new objects are limited until you pick a plan.
Ask for SMS and voice paging
On-call paging over SMS and voice is not included automatically, because every page costs real money to send. Ask for it and we enable it per workspace:
- Go to Settings > Plan.
- Click Request SMS + voice.
- A support ticket is opened on your behalf. Reply in that thread if you want to add context, such as how many people need to be paged.
Once enabled, your workspace has a monthly ceiling on paid SMS and voice calls, which we set for you. Settings > Plan shows the ceiling and how much of it you have used this month. If you reach it, paid paging stops for the rest of the calendar month while every other alert channel keeps working. Ask in the same ticket if you need it raised.
Send feedback
The Settings > Plan panel also has a feedback box. What you write opens a support ticket, so you can follow the thread and see what we did with it, rather than sending a message into a void.
If the code is refused
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| No programme with that code | The code does not exist. Check for typos; codes are not case sensitive. |
| This code is no longer active | The programme was switched off, or the code passed its cutoff date. |
| This code has already been fully redeemed | The programme ran out of places. |
| This workspace has already redeemed a programme | You used a code before. One per workspace. |
